"Where Everyone Has a Voice and Every Voice is Heard"
This was the vision of the Committee for a Better New Orleans, and I believe in it with every fiber of my being, in every setting from a citywide conversation to a neighborhood meeting. Decisions impact people’s lives; people have a right to be heard while those decisions are being made — not after.
I have helped design, facilitate, record, synopsize, and apply input from community meetings and processes for more than 25 years. Just a few examples of these projects: the New Orleans Master Plan, the Community Participation Plan, the Brownfields Initiative, multiple NPP (Neighborhood Participation Plan) processes, and the Urban Water Plan.
I understand that different people have different ways of providing input, and make sure that all participants have the opportunity to be heard. I understand that emotions often run high in public processes, and am experienced and adept at keeping conversations focused, respectful and productive.
Additionally, I have served a variety of community, neighborhood, nonprofit and for-profit organizations as they undertake various internal processes. I have facilitated annual retreats, strategic planning processes and similar organizational processes, with a clear focus on participation and results.
I do not charge for an initial consultation, so please contact me to discuss how I can make your next participatory process as inclusive, productive and successful as possible.
